The SBS Basic Photography Workshop 2016

On July 9, 2016, the Shutterbugs Society once again had it's Basic Photography Workshop for it's new members and interested enthusiasts. Despite the ongoing rainstorm which started since the day before, quite a number still managed to push through just to attend this rare opportunity.

SBS Director and Adviser, Gerard Salimpade, speaker for the SBS Basic Photography Workshop

SBS Director and Adviser, Gerard Salimpade, talked about a different approach for the Introduction to Photography. It was followed by Composition and the Basic DSLR Usage.

SBS members tested out the full manual mode and its different aspects. How to properly adjust the shutter speed, aperture, and ISO as necessary.

After the basics, the event discussed about some basics on lighting. The difference in shooting just with ambient light, pop up flash, on camera flash, and off camera flash.

The SBS members were also taught about one of the Sannin's (Gerard) strobist signature shots.

The members tested the two-light set up with their cameras by taking turns. The event was a success, thanks to the member's burning passion for photography and their urge to learn! Documented photos were taken by SBS Bonafide Member, John Carlo Bautista.
